Plastic Kanji Japan

Here the plastic can be seen falling off this rather old Japanese lantern. I think it’s great that these lanterns are not always replaced for some of the newer ones. These older lanterns have a lot of class and are a joy to shoot with all the interesting nuances about them.

The sun gave this stone an aged sort of look. I enhanced the tones a bit in Photoshop but for the most part this is straight from the camera. It’s a cool kanji character as well.

Just completed my most recent slideshow titled “Kanji Japan”. It is a collection of photographs that depict Japanese writing in either Kanji, Hiragana, or Katakana form. The collection is a sort of Digital Art representation of the writing characters found in Japan.
